POOL
RENOVATION STATUS AND PHOTOS
Status:
Because of the frequent Thunderstorms this week, the start of
the project was delayed. Work started
Tuesday afternoon and the pool drained on Wednesday (May 20). Below are progress photos and notes.
May 21
The pool is drained and grinding of the skimmer area started.

May 23
lower blue tiles are now in place and will set and cure. The
darker blue tiles at the steps are code regulated tiles that are non skip while
getting in and out of the pool. The crew will be back on Tuesday to do the
skimmer area and start the inside of the pool

May 28
Everything
is progressing. New tiles have been
installed and the edge leveled. The
surface has been patched and new returns installed. The bonding agent to attach the new quartz
surface to the old layer has been applied and is curing. Final quartz material is planned to be
applied on May 29.

May 29
The pool is
about DONE!!! The pool is now being
refilled and the new ladder installed.
David Zorn reported that after a very long day (starting at 6am) the
renovation is complete. Here are some
pictures prior to the refilling.

May 30
The pool is
now filled and the system is up and running again. Chemicals have been added and it is in the
process of being balanced ready for use again.
The beam (white edge around the pool) still needs its final coat but
this will be done shortly. Water
temperature is in the 80’s as filled from the hoses.

Many thanks to David Zorn (our very own temp pool boy!) and
his wife Susan for overseeing the project
